Domko was born out of real need and student experience. Behind the idea and realization is Denis Kantić from Tuzla, a young freelancer from Bosnia and Herzegovina currently pursuing a Master's degree at the Faculty of Information Studies (FIS) in Novo mesto, specializing in Computer Science and Web Technologies (RST).
Through his own experiences and conversations with colleagues, he realized how difficult it is for students to find reliable and updated accommodation in Slovenia. Many ads are outdated, and scam offers are not uncommon. That's why he decided to use his skills as a full-stack web developer and system administrator to create a solution that truly helps students.
Everything built in Domko was done with personal resources and every spare minute of hard work. Denis developed this project independently, without any financial support, with the idea of offering students a completely free application that simplifies finding a home and connects the community. To be inclusive, he made the app available in three languages: Bosnian, Slovenian, and English.
Ajdin Kovačević, a student at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ljubljana (UL MF), brings an analytical approach and extensive experience in strategic communications to the Domko.si team. He has built his expertise in digital brand positioning and public appearances through numerous media projects, and as a student in Slovenia, he understands firsthand the challenges young people face when arriving in a new environment.
In our team, Ajdin is responsible for developing PR strategies, managing media relations, and strengthening trust between the platform, students, and institutional partners. His focus is on transforming complex messages into clear, transparent information, ensuring that Domko.si builds an authentic identity and remains synonymous with safety and innovation in student housing.
